Biotechnology Engineering develops products for curing diseases, improving the quality of food and preserving the environment in which we live. This is a changing field that requires multidisciplinary thinking and requires knowledge in engineering and biology. The studies in the Department of Biotechnology Engineering equip the next generation of professionals and researchers for the future leadership of the biotechnology industry.
The Department of Biotechnology Engineering at the College was established in 1993 with the design of a new concept in the field of engineering professions in Israel: the ability to integrate engineering principles and biological knowledge to develop products for the benefit of man and the environment. Prof. Ephraim Katzir (z “l), the fourth scientist and president of the State of Israel, was a partner in promoting the department and encouraging the unique thinking that leads it to this day
of graduates in industry and as a basis for continuing their studies in advanced degrees
We are working on integrating basic scientific research with innovative topics and advanced technologies while dealing with new challenges through fruitful cooperation with academic researchers and industry leaders
