President’s Vision – Braude College of Engineering

Braude College of Engineering was founded on a simple belief: knowledge can build a better future. From our home in the Galilee, we have become one of Israel’s most important sources of engineering leadership—preparing the engineers and leaders who will safeguard the nation’s strength, creativity, and economic vitality.

My vision is for Braude to be a beacon of excellence that joins rigorous academics with real-world purpose. We nurture interdisciplinary thinking, ingenuity, and an entrepreneurial spirit so our graduates can lead with confidence in an era of change. Equally vital is our commitment to inclusion—opening opportunity to women, minority students, and all who seek to contribute to Israel’s story—while deepening partnerships with industry through various initiatives.

A new and expanded Braude campus is essential to this promise. Israel’s future depends on more skilled engineers, advanced research, and closer collaboration between academia and industry. Our current facilities can no longer meet that national need. The new 25-acre campus will provide more state-of-the-art laboratories, innovation centers, and modern learning spaces, enabling us to expand enrollment, attract outstanding faculty, and develop technologies critical to Israel’s competitiveness and security—especially here in the north.

Every Braude student gains hands-on experience through internships that often lead to employment opportunities before graduation. Scholarships and dedicated support ensure that talent, not financial means, defines education, including for students serving in IDF reserves.

After more than two years of national challenges, Israel is turning resilience into renewal. Across the country—and especially in the Galilee—we feel a vital determination to grow, to innovate, and to create opportunities. The new Braude campus is a powerful expression of that moment: a place where recovery becomes progress, where young people build their futures, and where education strengthens the social and economic fabric of northern Israel.

This vision cannot be realized without committed partners. Although significant resources have been dedicated to the new campus, meaningful philanthropic investment is now required to complete it, equip its laboratories, and shape Israel’s next generation of engineering leaders. I invite you to join us not only as supporters but also as builders of hope and opportunity for the Galilee and for Israel.

Together, we can create a campus that inspires, a region that thrives, and a future filled with possibility. With optimism and collaboration, I am confident we will achieve our goals.

Sincerely,
Prof. Sarit Sivan, PhD
