In the field of computational nonlinear solid mechanics, in particular, finite element analysis, there is a strong need for efficient and robust algorithms. An efficient and robust numerical scheme allows a mechanical designer to achieve fast and reliable results. I combine mathematical manipulations with insights from the physics of nonlinear systems to propose new formulas for highly efficient numerical approaches.
