The Unit’s mission is to train highly qualified academic-level educators for teaching engineering subjects and mathematics in secondary schools, to meet the needs of the education system. The unit is also responsible for general studies courses and sport for students learning at the engineering programs of The Braude College of Engineering.
The unit awards teaching certificates in the following fields: Biotechnology, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering and Management, Information and Data Studies, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Advanced transportation, and Mathematics.
The following study tracks are offered:
- Teaching Certificate in a single field (engineering or mathematics)
- Combined Teaching Certificate (in an engineering field and mathematics)
- Extension of teaching certification to an additional teaching field (mathematics or engineering) for holders of a bachelor’s degree and a teaching certificate
- Teaching Certificate for practical engineers
- Teaching internship for holders of a teaching certificate during their first year of employment in a school
