Software engineering is a dynamic, innovative, creative, and ambitious discipline that is required in virtually every sphere of modern life. The field provides advanced technological solutions tailored to the growing need for successful software solutions in the software industry, in a reality where the complexity of computerized systems is increasing and requirements are rapidly changing.
The software engineering curriculum provides a general theoretical and technological background in computer science, as well as knowledge and hands-on experience with software engineering methods and tools and their application for the successful development of software systems. The program includes a general scientific-algorithmic foundation in mathematics, physics, and computer science, core courses in engineering and technology, elective courses in diverse areas, and a capstone project.
The objective of the software engineering program is to train skilled engineers for the knowledge-intensive industry and the high-tech sector in Israel and worldwide, as well as to prepare graduates with analytical thinking and systems analysis capabilities who possess the ability to plan, design, construct, and operate complex software systems in numerous diverse fields such as communication systems, banking systems, medical systems, aviation, energy, and more. Additionally, the program enables its graduates to pursue advanced academic degrees. The program duration is four years and comprises three stages:
The first stage establishes the scientific and algorithmic foundation necessary for engineers: core studies in mathematics, physics, and computer science.
The second stage encompasses engineering and technology subjects: students acquire fundamental knowledge in a variety of technologies and engineering approaches to software system development.
In the third stage, students deepen their knowledge in various topics in the domains of: sciences, algorithms, signal processing and communication networks, software engineering, seminars and laboratories, and complete a year-long capstone project.
Our graduates are employed at leading companies in the industry, while some pursue advanced degrees – at the college and at universities.
Employment destinations include: Microsoft, Apple, Intel, IBM, Google, Mellanox, Amazon, Rafael, Lumenis, Marvell, NVIDIA, Amdocs, SanDisk, Check Point, Elbit, KLA-Tencor, and others.
