Remote is the New Local: IoT Challenges Time and Space

Dr. Dan Cuperman

Internet of Things (IoT)-based Remote Labs for Engineering Education

In the field of engineering education, IoT technology has given rise to new opportunities for remote connection to laboratories that are otherwise inaccessible to students due to distance and time constraints. In this research, a remote learning environment was developed, connecting students to a laboratory in which a robotics assembly line can be monitored and controlled via an IoT system that includes an array of controllers, sensors, and cameras. The students programmed and operated the environment and created dashboards through which they received data and controlled the system.
