Dr. Gilead Fortuna is Senior Research Fellow, Founder and Head of the “Center for Industrial Excellence” in Samuel Neaman Institute for national research in the Technion, from 2010, Promoting a pro-active policy of industrial excellence (CIE), which is tested by a competitive advantage in the global markets and quality employment of all sectors of Israeli society.

The main contributions of the CIE in the last few years were the initiation of Advanced Manufacturing national policy and promoting its application, and the initiation and formulating the program to upgrade the Socio Economics of North of Israel, in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy.

He is a Member of the Technion BOG from 2010 has been a member of the Technion council from 2013 until 2022.
Dr. Fortuna has many contributions in the Israel industries. He served as board member of Amiad Water Systems (2015-2020) and of Enzymotec until IPO.
He has served as VP Business Development in major Israeli companies: Frutarom (2012-2014), Gadot Biochemical industries ( 2010-2012), Teva Pharmaceuticals (2001-2009) leading the BD of Teva API division (2001-2005) and leading Teva corporate BD to China and India (2005-2009), was the CTO of ICL and CEO of Chemical and Fertilizers (1999-2001), CEO of Tami, the corporate R&D company (1995-2001) and previously was the SVP for BD of Rafael (1987-1991) and SVP for Operations of Rafael (1983-1987). He also served as the Head of the Aeromechanical Division of Rafael (1981- 1983). He served as a visiting Senior Research in Dupont (1980) and visiting professor in CCNY in 1979 and 1991.
He is the Founder of two new companies: Novetide Ltd. Global successful leading peptide company (in 1999) and of Aquise Ltd. Global successful leading water purification company (in 2000).
He is a graduate of Harvard AMP program, has a PhD from University of Illinois and BSc and MSc from the Technion
