Dr Amer Elias is a faculty member in the Department of Biotechnology Engineering at Braude College of Engineering, specializing in genome engineering, molecular biology, and gene and cell therapy. His research focuses on developing precise genome-editing platforms based on site-specific recombinases and CRISPR technologies for applications in hereditary diseases, cancer, and neurological disorders. He brings experience from both academia and the biotechnology industry, including CRISPR-based therapeutics, engineered stem cells, high-throughput screening, and mammalian cell-line development. Alongside his research, he has extensive teaching and mentoring experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, genetic engineering, diagnostics, and organic chemistry.
