Bio:
Professor Fengzhou Fang has been working in manufacturing science and technology over the past thirty years. His specialist areas of interest include optical freeform design and manufacturing, medical devices/implants manufacturing, ultra-precision manufacturing and metrology. In recent years, he has spent most of his time in the Atomic and Close-to-atomic Scale Manufacturing (ACSM), which is supposed to be the core competence of Manufacturing III among the three manufacturing development paradigms. Amongst the application areas are in medical devices, biomedical implants, aspheric and freeform optical systems, and high precision components. Prof Fang has worked with over hundred industrial partners assisting companies to develop their R&D activities. He is the Founding President of the International Society for Nanomanufacturing (ISNM), the President of the International Academy of Engineering and Technology (AET), and the Editor-in-Chief of Nanomanufacturing and Metrology (NMME).
